Who knew that one of the best exercises could be something as simple as walking? That’s right, the walk workout, or merely walking, is one of the best ways to keep your body AND your mind in shape. In this post, Daniel explores what walking can do for our bodies and minds and why we should all be using this easy technique on a regular basis.

Yep, you heard me right. Walk. It’s what your body was designed to do. No running, jogging, or any other intense exercise. If you just want to get into better shape but not get buff or gain a lot of muscle, walking is the way to go. It’s not fancy, you don’t have to have special shoes or special clothes, and you don’t even have to purchase a membership. You can even do it in any weather, although it might not be the most pleasant of experiences. Your body is an all-weather, all-terrain walking vehicle. Its design is simply awesome.
There are many benefits to walking at a moderately fast (we’re not talking “power walking”) pace. These include:
- The best form of exercise, as your genes “expect” you to walk
- Increasing immune function
- Increasing creativity and focus
- It is any easy form of meditation
