Chocolate pudding is a favorite snack item in America, especially among kids. Those little pudding cups are prevalent among lunch tables everywhere. But do we even need to go into how toxic those little cups are with their artificial ingredients and preservatives? We didn’t think so. This easy chocolate pudding recipe from Cristina, on the other hand, is not only delicious and pudding-y (new word?), but it’s full of healthful ingredients like gelatin, raw milk, and cocoa powder. We bet your kids will love this chocolate pudding snack just as much (as will you!).
“I love this recipe because it’s so easy, yet it’s very nutrient-dense. The raw milk has healthy fats and probiotics while the grass-fed gelatin is a good source of natural collagen and it helps to heal the gut. Cocoa contains a variety of vitamins and minerals, as does unrefined salt and even unrefined sugar (such as coconut sugar, which is what I use).
This dessert is naturally gluten- and grain-free, and if you need to make it dairy-free you can use an alternative milk. I recommend homemade or BPA-free canned coconut milk. You don’t have to use raw milk if all you can get it pasteurized. If you are using pasteurized or an alternative milk, you don’t need to separate it as I do in the first step. This was only done to keep as much of the milk raw as possible.”
