When I was younger, I fought nap time. I fought it hard. There was too much fun to be had making crafts and playing on the playground to close my eyes for a couple of hours. What if I missed something good? But my mom, of course, made me nap anyway. Now, as an adult, I regret ever fighting a nap, because now a nap sounds pretty close to heaven. Not only am I busier as an adult and crave a brief snooze in the afternoon, but I realize the great importance of getting quality sleep in relation to our overall health. After I had my first child, not only did I desire sleep for myself, but for the baby. Perhaps an even greater victory than a nap for myself is a nap for my child, which allows me to dabble into luxurious tasks like taking a shower and folding laundry 😉 I quickly learned the lesson that if my child gets quality sleep, everyone’s life is better. Now, we like to aid our kid’s sleep with a consistent nighttime routine that includes a relaxing bath and this homemade sleep cream. It’s amazing how this small step tremendously improves the quality and length of his sleep.
What secrets do you have for getting your kiddos to sleep?
“I’ve dreamt of a magical sleep potion that not only gets my kids to sleep on time, but also helps them wake up refreshed and NOT crabby. Well, after experimenting with my essential oils, I have not come up with a magical potion….but a cream! I apply it to my kiddos feet at night and it seriously helps them fall asleep faster, and it also appears to give them a deeper sleep because they are way less argumentative with each other at the breakfast table! Mom wins this round!!! I call my creation “Sweet Dream Cream”
Of course I had to share my recipe…”
